PCI-DSS Compliance Levels

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) defines four levels of compliance based on the volume of card transactions processed by a business annually. Each level has different validation requirements.

Level 1

Merchants or Service Providers processing over 6 million card transactions annually.

Level 3

Merchants or Service Providers 20,000 to 1 million e-commerce transactions annually

Level 2

Merchants or Service Providers 1 to 6 million transactions annually across all channels

Level 4

Merchants or Service Providers Fewer than 20,000 e-commerce transactions
